»Contemporan«
A sculpturally designed building made of high-quality materials
The Upper Engadine, one of the highest inhabited valleys in the Alps, enchants with its majestic 3,000-metre peaks, crystal-clear mountain lakes and the magical light so strikingly captured by the painter of the century, Giovanni Segantini. The mountain village of Zuoz nestles on a sunny slope in the unspoilt countryside of the middle section of the valley and is home to many beautifully preserved Engadine houses.
The elegant »Contemporan« maisonette occupies the two upper floors of the most architecturally sophisticated building in a chain of new residential buildings above the village centre, from where the magnificent views can be enjoyed to the full.
Zuoz offers a wide range of shopping, is on the route of the famous Engadine Ski Marathon, has an 18-hole golf course and is famous for the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz, founded in 1904 and one of the most prestigious boarding schools in the world. For even more variety, St. Moritz is just 20 minutes away. Numerous galleries prove that the Engadine is still a hotspot for artists and art lovers.
The »Contemporan« makes the dream of skiing on your doorstep a reality. The family-friendly ski resort of Zuoz is just a few minutes' walk away. For even more fun, try the nearby Corviglia-Marguns-Piz Nair ski area or the Corvatsch glacier ski area, with 120 kilometres of slopes and the highest mountain station in the Eastern Alps at 3303 metres.

The plastic, sculptural structure incorporates typical elements of the traditional Engadine house with a few precisely used materials. The house has a lift and is technically state-of-the-art, with underfloor heating and a heat exchanger with a geothermal probe.
From the first floor entrance you can enjoy the ingenious lighting scheme, with plenty of daylight entering through a cut in the façade. Straight ahead is the large living room, where a fireplace creates a festive atmosphere on long winter evenings. The huge window front extends over two floors to the roof, offering spectacular views of the mountains.
In the adjoining dining area, special angled windows let in light from the south. Further to the rear is ample space for a lounge or music and media area. To the west, the galley is fitted to a high standard with an extended island and breakfast bar.
The master bedroom on the second floor, with an en-suite bathroom, features a bespoke wardrobe and local Swiss stone pine panelling. There is also a further children's/guest bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.
Finally, the gallery above the living room opens into an inspiring studio or office with plenty of space for a library, collections and art objects. There is also a multi-purpose room and a wellness area with sauna in the basement. And in the summer you can lie down on the fragrant grass in the garden and admire the spectacular mountain scenery.
