»Collection Nobilis Estate No. 9«
Baroque house with beautiful garden in the town of roses in Thurgau
The old town of Bischofszell TG is home to many magnificent baroque and medieval buildings. The exemplarily renovated baroque townhouse »Collection Nobilis Estate Nr. 9« is part of this unique ensemble. It is a listed building. The historic building, with its striking stepped gable, is visible from afar as the end of a market square and old town lane.
The townhouse has recently been extensively and lovingly renovated and now benefits from a lift to the top floor, modern bathrooms and spacious south-facing balconies. The ground floor is currently rented out. In the future you could use the whole house as a family residence. On the south side of the property, by the old town moat, is a beautifully restored baroque garden.
The rose town of Bischofszell lies in the centre of the eastern midland, picturesquely perched on a terrace at the confluence of the Sitter and Thur Rivers. Following a devastating fire in 1743, the Grubenmann brothers from Teufen in AR planned the rebuilding of the town. The baroque townhouse was built of a wealthy family of canvas merchants.
Numerous shops, services and restaurants are located in the immediate vicinity of the property. The large university and banking city of St. Gallen can be reached quickly by car or direct S-Bahn connection. The other economic centres of the midland are also very well connected.
In the surrounding countryside, you can enjoy golf courses and a dense network of hiking and biking trails. To the north, the shores of Lake Constance are within easy reach for swimming and water sports. And on a clear day you can enjoy spectacular views of the Säntis (2,501 meters above sea level), the symbol of eastern Switzerland, from the nearby Bischofsberg.

The massive entrance door, with its radiant sun motif, sets the scene for the cheerful, baroque atmosphere inside the townhouse. The large entrance hall has a vibrant stucco ceiling and a beautiful staircase.
On all four floors there are three to four charming living or study rooms of varying sizes. On the ground floor there is a representative room with high quality panelling, fine parquet flooring and an impressive fireplace. On the floor above is a fascinating room with beautiful baroque landscape murals.
The private living area currently starts on the second floor. The high-quality kitchen is connected by double doors to the adjoining lounge and dining area, which features ornate panelling, a floral stucco ceiling and a valuable Steckborn tiled stove. The south-facing balcony offers stunning views over the moat gardens.
The light-filled ballroom on the third floor, with its particularly sculptural stucco ceiling, is the magnificent highlight of »Collection Nobilis Estate No. 9«. The loft-like space could be used as a gallery or studio – or as a grand living room.
