Where the foothills of the Prealps reach to the shores of Lake Constance, Sulzberg Castle sits majestically over the picture-perfect landscape on a mountain spur. The city of Bregenz with its lake stage and art house can be reached in around 40 minutes by car, as are Germany and the Principality of Liechtenstein. As an alternative to Zurich International Airport just under an hour away, the St. Gallen — Altenrhein regional airfield is close by.

Rudolf I of Sulzberg, who came from the Allgäu region, began building the powerful keep around 1230. At the end of the 14th century, a palace was added — the basis for today's residential wing. In 1474, the castle was purchased by the Mötteli family of Ravensburg merchants and converted into a residential castle. From 1578 to 1857, the property was owned by the Graubünden noble family of Salis.

In 1985-87, the “Mötteli Castle” was professionally and stylishly renovated and brought back to life as a home. There is now at least one bathroom and toilet on all floors. The apartments are equipped with floor heating and high-quality parquet or natural stone floors.

Apart from being used as a spacious residential and family residence, the castle is also perfect as a company headquarters.
