Grüningen — a picturesque “Stedtli”
In the still rural Zurich Oberland, the old town center of Grüningen with castle and church is perched on glacial terrain porn, visible from afar. The residential complex “Cheerfulness” is located around 500 meters north of it in the hamlet of Büel and impresses with a picturesque, unobstructed view of the historic “Stedtli”. On clear days, the snow-capped alpine peaks sparkle on the horizon.
“Cheerfulness” consists of a residential building, a converted horse stable and a timber house — all renovated with great attention to detail. In the south, the extensive garden plot gradually merges into the open countryside. The residential complex is therefore ideal as a family home with many retreat options or for use by several parties. Despite the rural idyll, Zurich can be reached in around 20 minutes via Forchstrasse.
The picturesque Zurich Oberland is characterized by the glacial Linth Glacier, which left behind small-scale hills. In the southwest, the Pfannenstiel (up to 853 m above sea level) connects with the Gold Coast — ideal for walks, jogging and cycling tours with a wide view of Lake Zurich. The Pre-Alps are already beginning in the east: Extensive forests, quiet valleys and exposed peaks such as the Bachtel (1115 m above sea level) attract visitors with a breathtaking panoramic view of the Alpine chain. In winter, you can often enjoy bright sunshine above the fog and have several ski lifts and trails to choose from.
Grüningen is divided into historic Stedtli, the Itzikon residential district in the east and the Binzikon commercial center in the south, which offers good basic services with shops, service providers and schools. There are also small outdoor guards in the area, such as the hamlet of Büel with the “Cheerfulness” residential ensemble.

On the floor above, there is a large bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, and at the top, under the sloping roof, an atmospheric studio. The beautiful timbered house also surprises with a spectacular living room, which stretches along the sloping ceilings in a cathedral-like manner. In the north, there is an elevated studio, while the kitchenette and bathroom are slightly lower.
