In the “Freiamt” region, the unstraightened Reuss, the fourth-longest river in Switzerland, flows through a wide valley in numerous picturesque meanders. The Laubehuus takes up the large volumes of historic buildings in the center of Zufikon and reinterprets them with contemporary architecture.

The modern “Laubehuus” consists of an elongated part of the house running from northeast to southwest and a shorter, vertical wing in the north, which presents its well-proportioned gable side facing the village street. The common areas are located on the ground floor of the northern house wing: a communal living and event room, a workshop and parking spaces for cars and bicycles. In addition, the communal vaulted cellar offers a great space for various events and uses. The northern wing of the building also contains the access core with lift and staircase.
