The “Laubehuus” in Zufikon
In the “Freiamt” region, the unstraightened Reuss, the fourth-longest river in Switzerland, flows through a wide valley in numerous picturesque meanders. On the gently hilly edge of the Reuss Valley lies the still rural community of Zufikon, where the multi-generation house Laubehuus is being built with numerous spacious apartments of various sizes. The village center of Zufikon is characterized by elongated farmhouses with voluminous roofs and large roof overhangs, which formerly consisted of a residential wing, the adjoining barn and the stable. The Laubehuus takes up the large volumes of historic buildings in the center of Zufikon and reinterprets them with contemporary architecture.
