requestsIn Igis and Zizers, there is everything you need for daily needs within walking distance. Just a ten-minute drive away, the cantonal capital of Chur attracts visitors with lots of culture, bars and restaurants. The big city of Zurich and the banking and university city of St. Gallen are both just over an hour away by car. The Principality of Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, Tessin and Italy are also not far away.
While Igis and Zizers were founded in the early Middle Ages, Landquart was only created much later in connection with the transfer station from SBB to the narrow-gauge Rhaetian Railway. Today, Landquart is a supra-regional shopping destination with numerous supermarkets and specialty stores. Since 2012, Landquart, Igis and Mastrils have come together to form a municipality.
Landquart is named after the river of the same name, which flows through the Prättigau and the “Klus” to the Rhine. Through the side valley, you can reach Klosters in just 30 minutes, with access to 300 kilometers of slopes in the Silvretta area. In 40 minutes you are in the health resort of Davos, the famous meeting place for personalities from all over the world.
