Luxurious living in a historic factory

From afar, the building towering amidst meadows and fields of the Ennetsee countryside could be mistaken for a church or monastery. On closer inspection, however, it becomes clear that it is a factory building with a tower.

A spinning mill had been using Lorze's hydropower since 1863. In 2000, the property was converted into four spacious residential lofts at great expense. Today, the spectacular loft apartment “SOHO HOUSE” with a tower and a garden with pergola, jacuzzi and sauna stretches out on the west side.

In the village center of Hagendorn, there is a Volg shop with a post office and a restaurant. Primary school is also just a few steps away from “SOHO HOUSE”. Cham, which stretches along Lake Zug, offers numerous other shopping opportunities. Or you prefer the picturesque old town of Zug with many long-established shops, cafés, bars and cultural institutions. Lucerne, Zurich and the airport can also be reached quickly via the A3.

If you're not having fun doing water sports on Lake Zug, the idyllic surroundings with hiking trails, riding stables, golf courses and farm shops invite you to discover. The Frauental Abbey, picturesquely located on the Lorze, impresses with a rococo style church and its own monastery shop. In the south, you can reach the Alps with the legendary Rigi (1,797 m above sea level) in less than 20 minutes by car, where in addition to cross-country trails and sleigh runs, there are even three family ski areas available in winter.

The loft apartment” SOHO HOUSE “is supplied with plenty of daylight through floor-length windows and skylights.” The building structure, the outer walls and the few remaining inner walls were taken over. Contemporary forms of architecture complement the old substance in such a way that the factory character has been preserved. ”

As if you were stepping onto a stage, a staircase leads from the main entrance directly to the magnificent living loft on the upper floor. In the southeast is the high-quality kitchen, which leaves nothing to be desired with a professional work table made of stainless steel and a custom-made pantry.

The spacious dining area extends under the cathedral-like central gable of the loft, where you can enjoy a feast with family and friends. In the free-standing cube in the cold room, delicious wines and other delicacies find their air-conditioned space.

In the magnificent living area in the northwest, there is plenty of space for various living arrangements that invite you to socialize around the festive fireplace. An upholstered window niche lives up to the term “window sill.”

On the ground floor, there are two classic children's or guest rooms facing the garden. Another room in the south is ideal as an office or additional bedroom. You descend into the extra-large tub of the opulent bath like a thermal pool.

In the “SOHO HOUSE” tower, you finally reach the cozy master bedroom with private bathroom. Up on the roof terrace, you seem to be floating above the green meadows, fields and forests of the countryside. In the south, the distinctive peaks of Wildspitz and Rigi rise up. And on clear blow-drying days, the snow-covered alpine chain glitters on the horizon.
