Nature-oriented architecture with a long history
Green architecture is all the rage. In addition to providing open spaces with a high level of aesthetic appeal, it also has very tangible ecological benefits. Vegetation and layers of soil protect the building from heat and cold — energy costs and CO₂ emissions are reduced. In addition, rainwater is stored and a habitat is created for plants and animals.
Since the 1960s and 70s, efforts have been made to combine nature and architecture — including in the form of earthen houses considered classics today, which convey an archaic, secure sense of living.
A particularly tastefully designed earth house, “The Earth House”, is located at the foot of the Heitersberg in the municipality of Dietikon. It is located in the northwest of an entire plot of earthen houses, in the middle of which a picturesque lake forms the natural border between the properties.
Inside “The Earth House”, a spacious entrance provides a dignified welcome — or you can come straight from the underground car park with an e-charging station. In the spacious dining area, you can enjoy a delicious feast with family and friends. The high-quality kitchen is directly connected to it via a work and breakfast bar.
In the southwest, the magnificent, light-flooded living room opens up, in which a fireplace creates a festive atmosphere. On the adjoining terrace, you can enjoy yourself between flowering plants, a water area and an outdoor fireplace.

As a result of the excellent transport connections, numerous nationally and internationally operating companies have settled down. The 80-meter high Limmat Tower, completed in 2015, is a symbol of Dietikon's economic dynamism.
In just a few minutes' walk, you can reach an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, an equestrian center with riding hall, a tennis club and the Stadthalle Dietikon. And when it snows, the lowest ski lift in Switzerland opens very close by!
